Counseling and coaching with LGBTQ+ awareness

I am committed to providing a safe space to, and to serving members of the LGBTQ+ community, both in coaching and counseling.

In coaching, the LGBTQ+ experience has often a major impact on any of the coaching journeys including:

  • Career coaching and the effect of discrimination on career choices. Potential challenges of authenticity in leadership and entrepreneurship. Career confidence and empowerment (see, for example, the higher prevalence of the Imposter Syndrome among LGBTQ+ and POC employees, etc.). Among other topics, I find it personally very important to grow the visibility of authentic role models and to work towards a world with more and more openly lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, intersex, queer + leaders and I am a proud member of PROUDR and RAHM - The Global LGBT+ Leadership Community

  • Dating and relationship challenges, a lack of support available to 'non-traditional' relationships and in general: the extra obstacles, pressure and weight on the love life of LGBTQ+ people.

  • A greater amount of stress, anxiety and pressure in 'simply' managing day-to-day life, with long-term negative effects on life quality, overall wellbeing and health.

Naturally, the challenges, as well as opportunities of being a member of the LGBTQ+ community are as diverse as its members, and therefore rather than establishing one separate LGBT coaching journey, I find it more precise to commit to adapting any of the existing coaching journeys to your specific needs. So whether your journey is about career, relationships, intercultural challenges, stress management or else, rest assured that the specificities of your experience as LGBTQ+ will have a place within the process.

For some of the topics specific to LGBTQ+, such as coming out, identity development and management, the effects of discrimination or challenging family dynamics, counseling may be a more suitable approach. In this case, as much as in coaching, I am committed to providing a safe, confidential space and process facilitation that is aware of, and sensitive to LGBTQ+ -needs.
